About Us
Hi, I'm Nes. I was born and raised right in front of the wave now known as The Peak. My husband, Ross, from Jersey, U.K., was the first Westerner to marry and settle here. He has surfed the waves of Simeulue more than anyone. While he’s not your official surf guide, he’s always happy to share his knowledge and offer pointers on where and when to surf.
Together, we’re raising our three children here on Simeulue, and we live right next door—so we’ll be around if you ever need anything. We want to give others the chance to experience this beautiful island we call home. We’re not a surf resort and can’t offer the same services as bigger camps or resorts, which is reflected in our affordable pricing. Our place is for adventurous and independent travelers who want to experience not just the waves, but the local community. By renting a bungalow with us, you’ll have the freedom to hop on a bike, explore the island, and enjoy meals at the nearby warungs—all while supporting the local community.
Simeulue locals are warm and welcoming, and though English isn’t widely spoken, it’s a great opportunity to brush up on your Indonesian while chatting at local coffee shops. That said, we understand that after a long day of surfing in the sun, sometimes all you want is an easy meal. We can provide home cooked meals or arrange delivery from local Warungs.
We have worked really hard to build something were really proud of and hope you love it as much as we do.
If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out—we’d love to hear from you!
